The votes are in on the poll. 10 people thought it was a good idea to allow members to volunteer to host our meeting each month. And 2 thought it was a bad idea. And I know of at least 1 person who would have voted if there had been a "Dont Care!" option.

October: Bill
November: Available (Reply to volunteer)
December: Available (Reply to volunteer)
January: Available (Reply to volunteer)

There are a few ground rules:
* The location has to be relatively easy access from the Greater Houston area. What that probably should mean is within 5 min of a highway/interstate inside the beltway, including the beltway.
* I want to be emailed the address and name of the location 2 weeks before the meeting you volunteer to host. So I can check it. I do hold veto power on the location. But you get an opportunity to choose a better location.

Suggestions on type of location:
* Relatively quiet - a place we can hear a person talk from the other end of the table.
* Separate room from the general population is a plus but not necessary if the first suggestion works.
* Food available
* Alcohol available

Thanks,
Kevin

PS. I thought an example of drive distance is in order. It takes me 20 min to get to the beltway. It took me 35-40 min to get to Richmond Arms. I know of 2+ other members who live near me, so we were all doing this each month. There are similar situations for members in every direction from Houston. So no matter where is chosen, someone and perhaps many some ones will not come due to distance. If it takes more then an hour drive for me, there is a strong likely hood that I'll refuse to come myself.
